You can print a full spread of standard sizes from 8.5 x 11 inches down to 4 x 6-inch prints. There’s also a 60-sheet tray for feeding printed documents, and the outbound tray can accommodate up to 25 pages. We were impressed with the photo quality we were able to print on the 3830, and the details in our printed photos were exceptionally clear. These aren’t blistering speeds by any means, but it holds its own. The 3830 will print 8ppm of black and white documents, and 6ppm of color documents.
There’s a 35-page automatic document feeder for scanning or copying large documents, and it didn’t experience any jamming during our testing. It scans, copies, faxes, and, of course, prints.
